Well week one is in the books and what a week it turned out to be. The fishing was excellent, with the exception of Tuesday (post cold front) which slowed the bite down a bit from the outstanding fishing (and weather) we experienced on Saturday for the opener. So what happened between Saturday and Tuesday? Well one of the unbelievable weather changes NW Ontario is noted for in the Spring occurred. Sunny and calm winds with a high near 70 on Saturday, gave way to heavy rains by mid-day Sunday which transitioned into snow by Sunday night and all day Monday. While the weather did cut back on the fishing time, it certainly did nothing to dampen the spirits of our regular opening day guests, as they were committed to having a great time in camp regardless of what Mother Nature threw at them. In true NW Ontario weather style, the cold front passed and the remainder of the week Tuesday thru Friday was absolutely outstanding with nary a cloud in the sky and warm temps again. What a week!

The weather did cause a delay in our rebuild of the roadside dock, which had been scheduled for last week. We started the process yesterday and expect in a couple more days to have it done. Otherwise, knock on wood, things are running pretty smoothly in camp and the fishing so far this week has been off the charts. We will try to share a few more photos the next time around.
