Border APPEARS to be opening 8/9/21! Info here…

Will be posting more details as available, but for now here is what we know. (or think we know) https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ottawa-border-measures-reopening-1.6107988?__vfz=medium%3Dsharebar&fbclid=IwAR1kMdy0GGp0bjHNqLryEy-vWNxWGhhDElRw4IQu3k0dItvrOpxlIQlgcCE

August is on FIRE!

When I say August is on fire, I’m not referring to the weather. The weather to be honest has been refreshing and unseasonably cool. Daytime highs mostly in the 60’s and 70’s have made way for great comfortable fishing conditions and certainly excellent sleeping weather. Perhaps starting to sense the potential early arrival of fall,Continue Reading

Summer fun and great fishing!

Well I know it’s been awhile since I’ve updated the blog… to be honest it’s really become a matter of internet availability, time, and writer’s cramp trying how to describe another week of great fishing in a new and exciting fashion. It really has been another great run (lasting now about 5 consecutive weeks) ofContinue Reading

Weeks 4, 5 & 6 updates…good news!

Hi again everyone. Sorry for the delay in getting some updates out here… Both weeks 4 & 5 were partially interrupted (for me) by a 5 day trip to Chicago to attend Megan’s graduation from Depaul University and then on home for about 36 hours to visit with more family. In case you missed itContinue Reading

Week 3 in the books…

Hi again everyone. Week three brought us a little bit of everything weather wise, some rain, some sun, some cool temps and some heat… Overall, a very pleasant week in camp. We aren’t quite ready to put the “Tropical Tahiti” in the water yet, but I was tempted when weeks end temps were reaching nearContinue Reading

Week 2 Update…man what a week!

Hello again everyone. Wow, what a week it turned out to be! While week two has historically been one of the very best weeks of the season through the years, 2019 will probably go down as one of the best of the best. Incredible weather most of the week with only a day or twoContinue Reading

Weeks 2 & 3 Updates

Sorry for not getting around to this sooner, but good news to report anyway. The weather for most of the second week of the season remained unseasonably hot, dry and windless. It didn’t hurt the fishing one bit however, as week 2 (as has historically been the case) remained outstanding. All guests in camp wereContinue Reading

Walleye beat down underway…

Well we all knew that the weekly updates just weren’t gonna keep happening now didn’t we? Camps full, fishing has been great and there have been just enough “issues” to eat away any idle time that I may have had. No complaints however, as the fishing has really been the story here the last twoContinue Reading

Peffley's Wilderness Camp is a family owned and operated camp. Dave has been fishing Wabaskang Lake for over 25 years and was previously a guest of this camp for 12 years prior to purchasing the camp in 2005. I am a proud supporter of our military and offer a nice discount during the month of July to our guests who have also served. I have three daughters ranging in ages from 16-21 who spend much of their summer with us in camp and have totally embraced the wilderness experience we offer. They have for years referred to it as the "best summer experience ever".

While rarely necessary on our lake, because I do have a very good working knowledge on how and where to fish on Wabaskang Lake and our portage waters, I will guide groups if asked to. Otherwise, I am always happy to share information with our guests and provide them well marked lake maps so they can start catching fish their first day in camp.

I pride myself on running a very clean and well managed camp with your satisfaction our top priority. Many guests who have fished from this camp for over 20 years, and several more that have fished here for over 30 years and even some over 40 years.
