Sport show season about to start

Hi all, Well the 2015 sportshow season is about to kick off for us as we will be heading to Kansas City next week for the first show of our season. As always, we are anxious to get out on the road and talk about camp and the great fishing and great experience we offerContinue Reading

New website is up and Fall update

Hi all, well it has certainly been a busy fall this year. It actually started before leaving camp, as Milissa’s mother (Ruby) passed away unexpectedly during the last week of the season. This resulted in a quick 48 hour trip back home to Indiana for the services, only to return to camp to finish theContinue Reading

Countdown Begins! Fishing season coming soon.

Countdown Begins! Fishing season coming soon.

Photos from opening week-2009. Cold weather didn’t stop these guys!   Well here it is March already! Winter is going to be over soon…. or so we hope. Regardless, it won’t be long and it will be time to head off to camp and get ready for another fantastic season of fishing on Wabaskang Lake! It’s anContinue Reading

Opening week-UPDATE

Opening week-UPDATE The response to our new special for opening week has been pretty good. With the current weather forecast for Perrault Falls, things are definitely looking up and showing more potential for an earlier ice-out. Temperatures for the next seven days (at the time of this writing) are forecast to hit highs of 43-52Continue Reading

Oh Canada! More than just fishing…

As the sport show season for another year comes to an end for us, it reminds me of a question that sometimes comes up as we are on the road: “So just what is it that makes Canada so special?” Of course, the answer(s) may vary widely from person to person, but for us theContinue Reading

Ice Out and Getting Ready to fish

In what may very likely be the earliest ice out in recorded history, the ice went out on Wabaskang about April 14th! Although no one has a crystal ball and can predict how this will impact the fishing for the season, I will take a moment to share some of my thoughts. First, the walleyeContinue Reading

Let’s go fishing!

I will soon be “blogging” from camp, but for now still at home getting ready to celebrate Allison’s eighth birthday with a skating party this weekend. Looks like a pretty decent weather forecast and with some lower water levels (at least for now) this will be a good time to get some ADDITIONAL projects in camp aroundContinue Reading

2010 Arrival at Camp

We made it into camp on Tuesday afternoon, May 4th. It was really a pleasant day to make the first trip in as the weather was partly cloudy with temps in the low 50’s. We had just enough time to unpack, get the electricity on (generator fired up) and a little water hooked up.In hindsightContinue Reading

Familiar faces, familiar places……

Well it is Friday evening about six hours before the 2010 walleye season opens, and the familiar faces (our opening week regulars) are all in camp, settled in and ready to hit the walleye tomorrow am. In the meantime, they have spent some time on the water today fishing for pike, lake trout and perchContinue Reading

Walleye Season Officially Underway!

Lot’s of walleye dinners in camp tonight as the season started out with a very good walleye bite. Who would have thought it….. May 15th (the earliest the walleye season can open) and the weather was wonderful. A bit breezy in the late a.m., but lot’s of sunshine, temps in the upper 60’s to low 70’sContinue Reading

Peffley's Wilderness Camp is a family owned and operated camp. Dave has been fishing Wabaskang Lake for over 25 years and was previously a guest of this camp for 12 years prior to purchasing the camp in 2005. I am a proud supporter of our military and offer a nice discount during the month of July to our guests who have also served. I have three daughters ranging in ages from 16-21 who spend much of their summer with us in camp and have totally embraced the wilderness experience we offer. They have for years referred to it as the "best summer experience ever".

While rarely necessary on our lake, because I do have a very good working knowledge on how and where to fish on Wabaskang Lake and our portage waters, I will guide groups if asked to. Otherwise, I am always happy to share information with our guests and provide them well marked lake maps so they can start catching fish their first day in camp.

I pride myself on running a very clean and well managed camp with your satisfaction our top priority. Many guests who have fished from this camp for over 20 years, and several more that have fished here for over 30 years and even some over 40 years.
